Learning Support Assistant: Northumberland

Leader Education are currently seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work within schools across Northumberland, supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 support for children with SEND
• Supporting pupils with their learning and classroom activities
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
• Working closely with teachers and school staff to create a supportive learning environment
• Building positive relationships with pupils to help them reach their full potential

• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
• Able to adapt to different learning styles and behaviours
• Strong communication and teamwork skillsPrevious experience working with children or SEND is desirable but not essential

The successful candidate will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Have experience working in a transferable role
• Follow personalised curriculums and care plans to meet pupil’s requirements
• Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
• Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
• Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
