An opportunity has arisen for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a leading organisation delivering critical services within the UK Intelligence and National Security sector.
Applicants must have active UKIC Security clearance.
You will support high-profile, mission-critical programmes, playing a key role in building and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines within highly regulated environments.
The Role
This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on enabling secure and efficient software delivery. You will work across cloud and on‑premise environments, driving automation and embedding DevOps best practices across the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Support cloud and on‑prem environments (AWS, Azure, or private cloud)
- Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment processes
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
- Ensure security is embedded across all stages of the DevOps lifecycle
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues
- Continuously improve DevOps tooling, processes and engineering standards
- Operate within strict security and governance framework
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE role
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)
- Strong understanding of systems, networking, and security
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana)
