Role Summary
As Site Manager for Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service at Hitachi Energy in Europe, you will lead all on‑site activities of a project to ensure cost‑effective execution of deliverables in line with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during start‑up, construction, erection, commissioning, and maintenance phases. The role is open only to UK residents and does not offer visa support.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan on‑site activities with Senior Management and Project Manager, coordinating resources, equipment and milestones.
- Coordinate agreements between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy.
- Serve as the project representative on site, building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and local stakeholders.
- Ensure correct handling, storage and installation of equipment and materials to avoid damage; report promptly to project logistics when goods are received.
- Maintain up‑to‑date risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) in accordance with project health and safety plan.
- Ensure all on‑site resources are properly trained and promote health and safety considerations to project partners.
- Control project cost for site work, monitoring actual spend against forecasts and estimating final cost.
- Maintain and update documentation in the document handling system, ensuring latest revisions are used.
- Manage sub‑contractors on site to achieve necessary quality and progress, meeting delivery date and agreed standards.
- Report regularly to the Project Manager on site activities, HSE (health, safety, environment), quality, progress and cost.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Site Manager in construction and/or installation business.
- Good understanding of transmission regulations and current HSE legislation.
- Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions‑oriented approach and strong communication skills.
- Proactive and flexible approach.
