Senior Software Architect

Job Overview

Architect and lead development of a new CAE platform. The engineering software startup is poised for growth and aims to break new ground in CAE, liberating engineers from traditional design and creative constraints. We are seeking a Senior Software Architect / Developer to put architecture and systems in place, and then grow and lead a team of software engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the development of a new CAE platform.




• Design scalable and extensible architectures for complex engineering or scientific software systems.




• Develop cloud infrastructure and distributed systems, selecting appropriate technologies across desktop, web, and cloud environments.




• Integrate modern front‑end technologies and apply AI‑assisted development processes.




• Guide and grow a team of software engineers in a startup or scale‑up environment.

Key Qualifications

• Significant experience in software architecture, system design, and development of complex engineering or scientific software systems.




• Technological breadth across development languages and platforms, including desktop, web, and distributed computing.




• Proven ability to design scalable and extensible architectures, develop cloud infrastructure, and use modern front‑end technologies.




• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and forward‑thinking approach to AI‑assisted development processes.




• Experience leading software engineering teams in a startup or scale‑up environment.

Benefits & Requirements

• Work is mostly remote within the UK, meeting monthly for two days in London.




• Competitive salary of up to £80,000 per annum.




• Full existing UK work permission is required.
