Position

Band 7 £49,387 – £56,515 per annum.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including weekend and BH commitments. All MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working.

Overview

Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) NHS Trust invites an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team as Procurement Lead and Responsible Person WDA(H). This senior role leads the safe, efficient and cost‑effective procurement and distribution of medicines across the Trust, ensuring full compliance with MHRA guidance, Wholesale Dealer Authorisation (WDA(H)) requirements, and other statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement operations, supplier management, stock control and GDP training.
  • Maintain a robust Quality Management System and oversee its continual improvement.
  • Act as the named Responsible Person for the Trust’s WDA(H) licence.
  • Ensure medicine supply service meets the needs of the Trust, internal teams and any external service contracts.
  • Support the Pharmacy Business Manager and Medicines Value Programme Lead with development of cost‑improvements to the department and the Trust.
  • Ensure all relevant licences are maintained and complied with.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, regional procurement networks, suppliers and regulatory bodies to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in pharmacy procurement or a related senior pharmacy role. • Understanding of MHRA guidance, WDA(H) regulations and COSHH. • Strength in leadership, stakeholder management and continuous improvement (additional qualifications accepted).
