Apply for the Patient Care Assistant
Location: London
Job Description:

This is a hands-on, varied, clinic-based role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be at the heart of everything, caring for patients, supporting our clinical team, and making sure every client who walks through our doors feels in the best possible hands.

You’ll look after the comfort and welfare of our patients, keep the clinic running smoothly, handle client communications, and occasionally support our Virtual Care team. It’s the kind of role where you’ll pick up skills quickly, build real relationships, and grow with a team that’s genuinely invested in your development.

You don’t need years of experience. You do need a genuine love of animals, a calm head, and the kind of warmth that puts anxious pet owners at ease.

Specifically, we’re looking for:

  • Animal handling experience (in any context)
  • Five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English, Science and Maths or equivalent qualifications
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • A team player who takes initiative and follows instructions carefully
  • Flexibility — including occasional Virtual Care cover
  • Experience within a veterinary setting is desirable

What you’ll be doing

  • Caring for inpatient animals, their feeding, welfare and comfort
  • Supporting vets and nurses during clinical procedures
  • Keeping consult rooms stocked and the clinic environment spotless
  • Talking to clients on the phone and in person, booking appointments, taking payments
  • Updating clinical records and handling admin with care and accuracy
  • Occasionally covering Virtual Care shifts, supporting members via chat and phone, triaging enquiries, and helping with bookings

Job Benefits

  • 200 hours annual leave plus bank holidays — and your birthday off after your first year
  • Salary sacrifice pension (5% employee, 3% employer)
  • Real career progression as we grow across London and beyond
  • A genuinely supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Regular socials and the chance to be part of something that’s doing things differently
