About the Company

Our client, an established electronics manufacturing firm in Rochester, require an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team specialising in Aerospace electronics.

Candidates would need to have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for BPSS security clearance.

Responsibilities

Some of the main duties of the Lead Hardware Engineer will include:

• Providing managerial and technical leadership of an electronics design team
• Being involved in work package management; cost, schedule, risk and opportunities
• Ensuring the engineering team is supporting the production program demand
• Providing technical governance and ensuring adherence to company processes
• Leading cost and performance trade-offs

Qualifications

• Demonstrate high performance and achievement in leadership and management of engineering teams through a full product development lifecycle
• Have proven experience / knowledge of cost and planning management tools/optimizing solutions and minimising impacts from dependencies/ product design and work package control
• Experience of design and identifying improvements to working practices and team skill development, along with root cause and target areas of improvement, focusing on failure reduction and MDBF
• Desirable experience of the Safety Critical Systems, requirements management tools, such as DOORS or work‑package management tools, such as MSP, JIRA
