Job Description:

Social Media First Production Manager

Location: NW London (in-person, across our stores and shoots)

Salary: Competitive

We’re building our own in-house media production company and we’re looking for the first hire to build the team and lead the new strategy. We’re specifically looking for someone to have a social media first approach to content production and brand strategy.

We’re a multi-brand vintage fashion business: Y2K Vintage (Brick Lane and Portobello, with Leeds and Brighton opening in the coming weeks), MSSY (a single store curated concept) and Y2K Wholesale (our B2B brand offering monthly thrifting events to the public at our warehouse in London Fields). We source over 20,000 vintage pieces a month, been recognised on Forbes 30 Under 30, bootstrapped our way from a bedroom business to now opening our seventh location all using organic social media strategy. As we continue to grow and take on new challenges, we’re looking to bring in a senior hire to lead the end-to-end production of all social media output across all current and future brands, ensuring social strategy and brand are consistently prioritised through the ideation, production and editing process.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the entire process: the planning, capture, editing and posting of all social content across four brands. You won’t be starting from scratch here, two team members already ideate and shoot our content, ownership of their work and performance will sit with you
  • Develop our existing content and funnel strategy in line with each brand’s overarching direction
  • Plan big campaign moments with higher production at select points throughout the year
  • Build a production engine that consistently produces 60+ pieces a week
  • Hire and lead a small production team as well as a freelance and runner team
  • Run shoot days end to end: plan the logistics, get the shots, uphold brand visuals
  • Use our performance data (automated reporting) to decide what we make more and less of
  • Help shape our new behind-the-scenes media brand documenting how we’re scaling the unscalable and building this very team

Who you are

  • You’ve run shoots and edits at volume and know how to run shooting days efficiently to maximise quality content output
  • You have an eye for high performing social content and can utilise your skills to integrate social strategy into each content piece, whether that’s the visual hook or adopting particular editing techniques to optimise platform performance
  • You understand the Gen Z POV and how our customer consumes content online
  • You know how to build from the ground up and lead the way through the unknown – both teams, systems and workflows

Desirable

  • Experience across multiple brands, or in an agency or in-house content team.
  • Lighting, audio and styling skills for higher-production, staged content.
  • Strong editing proficiency (Premiere, CapCut or similar).
  • Has built or scaled a content or production team before.

What you get

  • A build-out role with the autonomy to design how this works
  • Performance bonus tied to output and account growth
  • A front-row seat building an in-house media company inside a fast-scaling business, with your work feeding directly into everything the brands do next
