Role Summary

Responsible for ensuring Digital Technology and Data (DTaD) operational risks are understood and operated in line with the Group Risk, Cyber and Data policies. Work with leaders to embed appropriate assurance of risks and controls, and accurate reporting to support effective risk-based decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for running the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RSCA) process to ensure DTaD operational risks are identified, assessed and governed in line with Group frameworks and DTaD policy obligations.
  • Produce and maintain quality risk reporting to support leadership with effective decision making and to drive actions where required.
  • Assist in flight audits and be the Single Point of Contact for audit and the business where required, ensuring actions are closed on time and to the right quality.
  • Support the DTaD Risk Lead in embedding risk culture across the function.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the Risks Management Framework, ensuring adherence whilst meeting the needs of the business.
  • Build strong risk focused relationships within key business areas.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Freedom to make decisions using own knowledge and available information to rate risks, decide upon the level of control effectiveness, and propose mitigating actions.
  • Prioritise focus on material risks based on impact, trajectory and exposure, directing leadership attention to what matters most.
  • Require clear risk ownership and action from DTaD leaders and escalates to risk lead where ownership or progress is absent.
  • Maintain DTaD risk standards, expectations and assessment approaches across Technology, Cyber, Data and Operational risk, within Group frameworks.
  • Capable of understanding complex, often technical, risks and issues with the ability to then provide advice on risk treatments and mitigations.
  • Maintain an effective overview of operational risks within DTaD which are governed in line with framework and policy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of guiding DTaD policies and standards and broader frameworks and requirements.
  • Ensure ownership of risks, controls and actions is at the appropriate level.
