Job Overview

Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant – Full‑time or Part‑time. This role is within the ENable Neurological Rehabilitation and Falls Teams, part of the Maximising Independence service line at Ealing Community Partners (ECP).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deliver rehabilitation care to patients in their homes, local community areas, and designated facilities such as care homes, Ealing day treatment centre, Clayponds Hospital, and community halls.
  • Assist therapists with delegated tasks: practising exercises, reviewing equipment, reporting progress, and notifying qualified staff of any issues, under appropriate supervision.
  • Manage equipment ordering and stock control, ensuring supplies are received in full and in good working order.
  • Support patients in the community to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.
  • Assist in running therapist‑led group exercise sessions, including upper‑limb exercise classes, falls, balance & strength classes, and adapted Tai Chi.

Person Specification

Education

  • Good level of general education (GCSE Maths and English).

Essential Criteria

  • Evidence of continuous development.
  • Basic IT skills – able to use a computer for e‑mail, Word and general internet use.
  • Current driving licence and access to a suitable car for work; able to navigate the Borough and other Trust sites using own car.
  • Interest in working with older people and rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of Rehabilitation professionals in the community.
  • Previous work experience, voluntary or paid, as a Rehabilitation assistant or similar Health or Care Assistant role in a social or healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with older people and people with long‑term conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

Desirable Criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in health and social care, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of the NHS and Social Care systems.
  • Understanding the roles of physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
