We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Network and Telecommunications Engineer within the Technical Operations Strategic Business Unit (SBU) at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role will support the delivery of Service Level Agreements, design and implement technical solutions, and work collaboratively with partners and customers to align with clinical and IT strategies. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure at all levels, providing essential technical support to users, and managing upgrades and installations within our Data Centres.
You will support the Network and Telecoms infrastructure across Kings Mill Hospital, GP practices, and Community Health services throughout Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Our aim is to ensure that our customers experience minimal disruption and receive high‑quality service that supports the smooth continuation of care.
Main duties of the job
• Support the delivery of Service Level Agreements.• Design and implement technical solutions.• Maintain and enhance IT infrastructure, including data centre operations.• Provide technical support to users across multiple sites.• Manage upgrades, installations, and ongoing infrastructure maintenance.

- Ability to supervise staff
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC/D, BTEC or similar certification in a relevant field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience with Cisco switching & routing
- Experience with Cisco enterprise wireless
- Knowledge of IP subnetting
- Knowledge of SIP & call routing
- Experience with Unified Communications – Mitel UCA & Skype for Business
- Experience with call recording software
Experience
- At least 4 years of prior technical experience within IT at a senior technical level.
