About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week on a three‑rotational shift pattern, ensuring variety and balance in your working schedule.
Shift Patterns
- Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
- Mid Shift: Monday to Thursday, 15:00 – 23:00 and Friday 10:30 finish
- Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 23:00 – 07:00
Competitive Salary Package: £43,806 (dependent on experience), plus shift allowance (£105 per week for Mid and £157.50 per week for Night), overtime, annual bonus, and a Cummins Reward Scheme.

What You’ll Do
- Safely undertake a full range of maintenance duties within a complex manufacturing environment, predominantly in the Assembly, Test and Trim areas, ensuring key equipment is returned to production in a timely manner.
- Fault find and repair plant and machinery including automated lines, nut runners, and test cells.
- Ensure all equipment functions correctly and efficiently after job completion.
- Timely completion of PPMs to schedule.
- Respond promptly to events.
- Review equipment to pre‑empt and prevent failure.
- Raise requisitions for equipment spares in line with company cost, quality and delivery requirements and submit to supervisor for approval.
- Respond to emergency procedure events within skill boundaries.
- Liaise closely with Operations Supervisors on priorities and initiate analysis of data to support corrective engineering work.
- Support team operation and assist/train others as appropriate.
- Follow safe systems of work, including working in confined spaces/at heights, LOTO where necessary.
About You
- Recognised apprenticeship (Time served electrician or mechanical fitter).
- Experience in PPM techniques.
- Experience of automated lines (test cells preferable; Siemens S7 PLC knowledge an advantage).
- Experience working within safe systems of work (LOTO, working at height, confined spaces).
- Computer literate (Maximo, Lotus Notes, Oracle).
- Able to follow a systematic problem‑solving process.
- Robotics experience preferred.
