We are seeking an outstanding Teacher of Business Studies to join a highly prestigious independent school in the Blackburn area. This full-time, permanent role is uniquely focused on senior school education, with a significant emphasis on delivering the A‑Level Business curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality, engaging A‑Level Business Studies lessons that prepare students for top‑tier university courses and high‑flying careers.
- Bring the syllabus to life by integrating current global economic events, case studies (from local Lancashire enterprises to multinational tech giants), and entrepreneurial insights.
- Maximise the benefits of smaller class sizes to foster deep classroom debate, guide analytical essay writing, and provide precise exam‑technique feedback.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school by supporting Young Enterprise schemes, business challenges, or investment clubs.
Qualifications
- A degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline, with QTS/QTLS preferred (experienced independent sector practitioners or industry professionals with strong training backgrounds are also welcome).
- Deep curriculum knowledge with a proven track record (or a strong capacity) to confidently prepare students for linear A‑Level examinations.
- A dynamic communicator who can command a room of young adults, inspiring them with a passion for commerce, strategy, and economics.
