Southwest Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust is recruiting a Specialty Doctor to join the Learning Disability Pathway within Barnsley Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based at New Street Wellbeing Centre. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care they need and is an integral part of Barnsley CAMHS.

Salary will be offered in line with the Specialty Doctor national pay scales and will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Experience

  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
  • Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
  • Wide range of CAMHS specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.

Physical Attributes

  • Smart professional appearance.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment or must have checked GMC eligibility and commenced the application process at the time of NHS jobs application.
  • A minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) medical experience in the UK, of which at least 2 years in psychiatry.
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
  • At least 6-month experience in CAMHS psychiatry.
  • Experience of working for at least 6 months in LD service (adult or CAMHS LD) in UK.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within six months of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status in 12 months time.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Transport

  • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence .

Qualifications

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Additional clinical qualifications.
