EY is accelerating the growth of our Pensions Consulting team and are looking for self‑starting, diligent individuals from a consultancy, actuarial or accounting firm who can contribute to our growth plans and who wish to be part of a successful business with a strong, established brand, now in its fourth year of double‑digit growth.

The Opportunity

We are looking to grow our consulting business. In order to achieve this growth, we need quality individuals with core pensions knowledge and demonstrable experience of building trusted relationships with CFOs of corporate sponsors, pension managers, trustees and pension providers.

Expertise Areas

  • Ongoing corporate pensions strategy
  • Pension end‑game solutions including run‑on strategies and risk transfer solutions
  • Pension risk transfer transactions, particularly experience of implementing pension buy‑in transactions and supporting schemes between buy‑in and buyout
  • Scheme wind‑up experience
  • Data and analyticsLeveraging corporate and pension scheme data for value
  • Actuarial modelling and valuations

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of numerical and written advice, as well as liaising directly with clients
  • Management of client projects within agreed scope and budget
  • Being part of client project teams and delegating work effectively
  • Providing pensions expertise/opinions whilst working in larger cross‑service line projects
  • Providing support to the senior management team with marketing initiatives
  • Building effective relationships in the market and within the EY network
  • Helping develop team members through mentoring, feedback and training
  • Maintaining our very high professional standards

Qualifications

  • Have a passion for providing outstanding client service and quality client advice
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience of working in a consulting environment, ideally on corporate work or BPA transactions
  • Be a self‑starter, with a can‑do attitude and energy willing to try new things
  • Enjoy working with people from a range of backgrounds and disciplines
  • Deep knowledge and experience of the UK pensions environment
  • Actuarial calculation and modelling experience
  • Have good commercial awareness
  • Project management skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity
  • Be comfortable with complexity and ambiguity and recognise the world is changing and will continue to change
