IT Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud – Cardiff

We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Microsoft Engineer with strong experience in modern Microsoft enterprise infrastructure, including Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, Intune, Group Policy, Active Directory, Enterprise Device Management and VMware vSphere.

Location & Working Arrangements

The role will involve three days in the Cardiff office and two days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on infrastructure support for Microsoft cloud environments (Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Intune, Enterprise Device Management, VMware vSphere).
• Maintain and support Microsoft Server environments ensuring reliability, availability and optimal performance.
• Support Azure cloud‑based solutions and ensure seamless integration and operation.
• Design, implement and manage IT infrastructure to meet current and future business needs.
• Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity and security.
• Implement, monitor and enhance infrastructure security controls, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Perform regular system audits and produce reports to support strategic decisions.
• Provide technical expertise, guidance and support to IT colleagues and end users.
• Participate in infrastructure restore activities and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong hands‑on support experience in Microsoft cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Microsoft Server.
• Proficiency in virtualization using VMware vSphere.
• Experience supporting Azure cloud‑based solutions.
• Some IT security experience is a bonus.

Salary & Benefits

Starting salary of £45,000 – £55,000, hybrid working and benefits.
