Company Overview
Our client is a well-regarded civil infrastructure contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex, large-scale highways and civils programmes across the UK and Ireland. Operating as a key player within the Tier 2 contractor market, the business has built a solid reputation for technical competence, commercial discipline and consistent programme delivery on some of the most significant infrastructure schemes in the region.
The company has developed long-standing relationships with a range of public and private sector clients, including local authorities, highways agencies and major framework clients. With individual project values reaching up to £250M, the scale of work on offer reflects the capability and capacity of a business that consistently operates at the higher end of the civils market. Their portfolio spans major road schemes, infrastructure upgrades, earthworks and associated civil engineering works across a broad geographical footprint.
The business is in a strong position commercially, supported by a healthy forward order book and a growing pipeline of secured and tendered work. As the company continues to expand its operational capacity and pursue increasingly ambitious programmes, there is a clear need to invest in experienced commercial talent at a senior level. This is a business that rewards ambition and performance, offering genuine opportunity for the right individual to shape the direction of the estimating function and grow with the organisation.
The company also recognises the value of attracting internationally experienced talent and is committed to supporting eligible EU citizens through the UK visa sponsorship process, making this a genuinely accessible opportunity for strong candidates based across Europe.
Working Environment & Projects
Based in Glasgow, you will be working within a commercially driven environment that sits at the centre of the business’s bid and pre-construction activity. The estimating function plays a critical role in shaping the company’s project pipeline, and as Estimating Manager you will have real influence over how the business prices, positions and wins work across the UK and Ireland.
You will work closely with senior leadership, operations and project delivery teams to ensure that tenders are developed with accuracy, competitiveness and commercial awareness. The variety of schemes — in terms of scale, complexity and geography — ensures that no two tenders are the same, providing consistent intellectual challenge and professional stimulation.
The company fosters a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and professional development. The estimating team is well-resourced and supported by experienced pre-construction and commercial colleagues, creating an environment in which you can focus on producing high-quality, competitive tenders while contributing to the wider commercial strategy of the business.
Glasgow provides an excellent base for this role, with strong transport links and a vibrant professional community within the construction and infrastructure sector. The position involves engagement across UK and Ireland project locations, offering a broad and stimulating remit for an ambitious commercial professional.
