About the Role

Trafford Council is recruiting a part‑time Exchequer Services Support Officer to join the Debt Recovery Team, supporting the collection of money owed to the Council, including Corporate Debt and Adult Social Care Debt.

The role involves processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, handling sensitive information in line with legislation, and responding to enquiries from internal and external contacts. You will support the day‑to‑day delivery of the service, ensuring work is completed to required standards and timescales. This role suits individuals who are reliable, organised, and have a positive attitude. Full training will be provided.

About You

As a suitable candidate, you will be organised, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. You will have good communication skills and be able to handle enquiries in a polite and professional manner.

You will have basic knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel. Attention to detail, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn are essential. You will be committed to improving how you work, taking responsibility for your actions, and working collaboratively to deliver a good service and get things right first time.

The service operates a hybrid working pattern between home and the office. Staff are expected to attend the office on average 1-2 days a week, though during training and mentoring this will be full time.
