E-commerce Content & Digital Shelf Specialist

Location: Reading (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)

Salary: £41,000–£49,000 + bonus + benefits

The Opportunity

This is a key hire within a newly formed, high-priority e-commerce function, created to drive significant growth across Amazon and leading UK retailers such as Boots and Superdrug.

As the E-commerce Content & Digital Shelf Specialist, you’ll take ownership of how products appear online—ensuring best-in-class content, strong visibility, and high conversion across all digital shelf environments.

Working closely with Amazon, activation, and brand teams, you’ll play a central role in replicating Amazon-level excellence across the wider retailer landscape, directly impacting sales performance and customer experience.

The Role

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for the creation, optimisation, and governance of e-commerce content across multiple channels.

You will:

  • Own Product Detail Page (PDP) execution across Amazon and key retailers
  • Create and optimise:
  • Product titles
  • Bullet points
  • Descriptions
  • A+ / rich content
  • Manage content through PIM / retailer platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Track and optimise key digital shelf KPIs:
  • Search visibility
  • Conversion
  • Content quality scores
  • Use analytics and insight tools to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Run A/B testing across PDP elements (imagery, copy, layouts)
  • Work closely with activation and Amazon teams to support campaigns, launches and promotional activity

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a detail-driven, commercially aware e-commerce specialist who understands how content drives performance.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 2–4+ years’ experience in e-commerce content, digital shelf, or online merchandising
  • Proven experience working with:
  • Amazon PDPs and/or major retailer platforms (Boots, Tesco, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Search / SEO principles within e-commerce
  • Conversion drivers on product pages
  • Experience using:
  • Retailer portals
  • PIM / DAM systems
  • Digital shelf analytics tools
  • Excellent copywriting skills, with the ability to translate product features into clear consumer benefits
  • High attention to detail and strong execution capability

What Makes This Role Different

  • Opportunity to own and shape digital shelf excellence across the entire retailer ecosystem
  • Direct impact on sales via content optimisation and conversion improvement
  • Exposure to:
  • Amazon best-in-class practices
  • Multi-retailer execution (Boots, Superdrug, grocery)
  • Collaboration across Activation, Amazon and Brand teams
  • Part of a newly built team with high visibility and strategic importance

Why Join

  • Be part of a business targeting significant e-commerce growth to 2030
  • Join a team being built from the ground up with strong investment
  • Gain ownership in an area that directly drives online revenue performance
  • Work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with real influence

This role is critical in solving a common industry challenge: inconsistent content quality across retailers.

While Amazon performance is strong, there is a clear opportunity to elevate digital shelf execution across Boots, Superdrug and other partners. This position is ideal for candidates who:

  • Come from Amazon or e-commerce agencies, or
  • Have experience managing PDP content at scale within FMCG or marketplace environments

The role offers strong ownership and the chance to become a go-to expert in digital shelf excellence, making it highly attractive for those looking to specialise in content and conversion within e-commerce.
