Overview
As a Customer Assistant in a JohnLewis shop, you will deliver outstanding customer service and maintain shop standards through displays, stock availability and general cleanliness, ensuring customers feel supported and loyal to the brand.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inspirational customer service at every stage of the customer journey.
- Use product knowledge and sales training to drive sales and increase profits.
- Put the customer at the heart of everything you do, proactively acknowledging and resolving their queries.
- Work flexibly across the shop to support the wider team, including till support, stock replenishment, price ticketing and general shop‑keeping tasks.
- Identify areas of improvement and implement solutions.
- Help protect profits through accurate stock counts.
Essential skills and experience
- Basic IT literacy.
- Strong communication skills.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience of working in a customer‑facing role.
- Experience with merchandising and product displays.
Employment details
Pay: £13.00 per hour (increase to £13.25 after 90days).
Contract type: Temporary.
Hours of work: Varied full‑time or part‑time hours (20‑37.5hours) across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends. All contracts include weekend working and a Thursday shift until20:00.
Night bonus: £3.75 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 and06:00 (also applies to Partners with Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements).
