Role Overview
Aegon’s Distribution and Marketing team aims to deliver commercial outcomes by promoting the brand, products and services. This role supports the Communications Manager in developing and delivering marketing communications for advisers, customers, and the wider market. The Senior Communications Consultant will collaborate with engagement experts, the Mylo team, and cross‑functional partners to create impactful, channel‑specific campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver marketing communications, campaigns and projects on agreed timelines and a rolling monthly activity plan.
- Create clear, compliant, and engaging content across multiple channels, ensuring alignment with brand standards and the customer promise.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to coordinate delivery and achieve planned outcomes.
- Represent the organisation at external industry events, conferences and onsite client sessions, coordinating content and engaging audiences.
- Ensure all communications meet regulatory, compliance and conduct risk requirements, presenting information that is clear, fair and not misleading.
- Manage budgets effectively, including tracking spend, processing invoices and driving efficiency across activities.
- Use customer insight and segmentation to target communications effectively and enhance engagement.
- Measure, analyse and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for future activity.
- Maintain and regularly review communication materials to ensure accuracy, consistency and cost efficiency across all channels.
Qualifications
- Experience working in financial services; workplace/pensions experience is a strong advantage.
- Strong copywriting skills across multiple channels, particularly digital and direct communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail, tone of voice and brand alignment.
- Event coordination experience, both face‑to‑face and virtual.
- Solid understanding of marketing communications principles, including the promotional mix and campaign planning.
- Good knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial promotions.
- Experience developing and delivering marketing communications campaigns, plans and proposals.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong understanding of customer and adviser segmentation and how to apply insight to targeted communications.
