Pay and Hours

Rate of pay starts from £13.28 per hour, increasing to £14.55 per hour for stores within the M25. For all hours worked between midnight and 6 am you will receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. Flexibility is available for those who prefer fewer hours, with a minimum of 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Serve shoppers and help them find what they need.
• Provide natural and enthusiastic service to customers.
• Work across different store areas, including service, picking, replenishment.
• Apply training to work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
• Make decisions that benefit customers, delivering store routines that meet their needs.
• Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
• Understand and contribute to store performance, driving service, sales, reducing waste and shrink, and delivering profit.
• Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure customers receive them in the best condition.
• Be a brand ambassador: presentable, on time, and living Tesco values.
• Accept deliveries into the store when required.
• Greet customers with a smile and offer great service.
• Build rapport with customers and leave them with a positive shopping experience.
• Take initiative and make decisions that are right for customers.
• Communicate openly with colleagues, building teamwork and celebrating success.
• Be punctual and well presented at work.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Age: Must be over 18 years old.
• Legal: Candidates must have passed school leaver’s age in their country.
• Availability: Able to work between 6:15 am and 9:45 pm or flexible to early/late shifts.
• Physical: Able to work in areas such as warehouse, beers, wines and spirits, counters, bakery and driving roles if applicable.
