A major financial services organisation is looking for a senior technology leader to own and modernise the technology agenda across critical control functions.
The mandate: reshape how Legal, Risk, Compliance, Audit and Tax use technology, data, workflow, automation and AI governance as the environment today is complex, fragmented and strategically important different systems, manual workflows, inconsistent data, duplicated processes and legacy operating models. The business needs a leader who can bring structure, challenge, platform direction and long‑term ownership.
The role
Lead the technology capability for control functions, partnering with senior stakeholders across General Counsel, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Tax, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data and Technology Delivery.
You’ll define the future‑state technology model, rationalise fragmented platforms, improve workflow and evidence capture, strengthen data and reporting, and build a more scalable, auditable and AI‑ready control‑function estate — challenging senior stakeholders, not just taking requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead platform rationalisation across GRC, IRM, workflow, audit, policy, issue management and reporting tools
- Own the technology strategy and roadmap across control functions
- Review the platform estate and find opportunities to simplify, consolidate and reuse
- Define future‑state workflow, data, reporting and control‑evidence capabilities
- Translate business and regulatory needs into executable technology roadmaps
- Challenge fragmented demand and prevent unnecessary point solutions
- Drive better integration between systems, data, controls and governance processes
- Support AI governance and controlled AI adoption across sensitive processes
- Improve auditability, traceability, resilience and operational control
- Provide senior advisory input to CIO, GC, CRO, CCO and other executives
The panel is requesting interviews only for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Strong technology leadership in a regulated financial services environment
- Experience shaping technology across one or more control functions (Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Tax, Finance)
- Track record in platform strategy, roadmap ownership, vendor governance and estate rationalisation
- Exposure to GRC / IRM platforms — ServiceNow IRM, Archer, OpenPages, MetricStream, Workiva, AuditBoard, TeamMate, Diligent or similar
- Strong grasp of workflow, data, reporting, controls, attestations, issue management and regulatory obligations
- Ability to work with architecture and engineering on integration, data models and delivery sequencing
- Experience modernising legacy processes and reducing manual control activity
- Senior stakeholder management — able to challenge constructively across complex organisations
- Good understanding of AI governance, automation, operational resilience and technology risk
