Working Thursday and Friday 08:30–16:00.

Job Overview

We are looking to recruit a Business Support Worker. This is a very busy role where you will have face‑to‑face contact with residents, all of whom have dementia. You will be the first point of contact for reception and help create a warm and friendly welcome for all visitors to the home – family members, friends, doctors, district nurses and other professional members of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Take initial enquiries for admissions to the home from a wide variety of sources (planned or unplanned), prioritise and use initiative.
  • Provide support to managers and the wider team to ensure smooth running of the service.
  • Finance: Procurement of goods/service – process and order goods, raise orders, process invoices, admin and balance a petty cash account.
  • Building issues – report and coordinate building repairs, liaise with internal and external contractors.
  • ICT – excellent word‑processing, Excel and other ICT skills; previous experience using a database to record information.
  • Take minutes at meetings as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in reception or front desk role in a care/home setting.
  • Strong prioritisation and initiative.
  • Proficiency in word‑processing, Excel and database use.
  • Administrative experience with petty cash and invoicing.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance coordination.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
