J’ace Rotherhithe Gymnastics Club is a family-oriented club in London that supports young people aged 18 months to 16 years in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Gymnastics Coach Level 2/3 role based in London at J’ace Rotherhithe Gymnastics Club. The coach will plan and deliver engaging gymnastics sessions for children and young people, ensuring activities are age-appropriate, safe, and aligned with club and governing body standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading warm-ups and skill drills, spotting and supporting gymnasts during skills development, and providing constructive feedback to help gymnasts progress. The coach will also be responsible for maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere, managing class behaviour, and promoting teamwork and confidence. Additional tasks include session planning, attendance tracking, equipment checks, communication with parents and carers as needed, and supporting club events, displays, or competitions.

Qualifications

  • Current Level 2 or Level 3 gymnastics coaching qualification (or equivalent), with demonstrated experience coaching children and young people in a club or similar setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of gymnastics skills, progressions, and safe coaching techniques, including spotting and adapting activities for different abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, encourage, and manage groups of young gymnasts in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Proven ability to plan structured sessions, set achievable goals, and monitor gymnast development over time.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare, including willingness to undertake or maintain an enhanced background check and relevant child protection training.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team, support club initiatives, and uphold the club’s values of inclusivity, teamwork, and enjoyment.
  • First Aid certification, and familiarity with health and safety practices in a sports environment, or willingness to obtain these within an agreed timeframe.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends in line with the club timetable and special events.
