How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The mission of the Stocks and Assets Management team in the cluster is to achieve operational excellence in stock and assets management and optimize Packaged Gases (PG) mobile assets Retesting. The team drives high customer service level and cost performance through optimized Capex and Opex, with the ultimate goal to ensure that the right assets are available in the right place, at the right time and at the right cost, supporting seamless and efficient PG mobile assets supply across the cluster.
As part of the Stocks & Assets Management team, the entity Stock & Assets Manager role is to contribute to this mission in their entity by leading their team in optimizing the fleet of PG mobile assets over the cylinder life cycle from procurement to assignments to plants, to retesting and, ultimately, to retirement. The Stock & Assets Manager UK is accountable for ensuring the performance of the stock required to the Packaged Gases operations in the UK in a service model, working on two main axes: 1) availability at the right time at the right place (cylinders/bundles, empty & full) and 2) the optimization of the assets usage and costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team in charge of the following main processes:
- S&OP: proposing an updated demand forecast and required production plan enabling the setup of the right resources (people & assets) at the right time to meet customer demand in the mid‑ to long‑term horizon.
- Assets Management: investment requests, cross‑border asset transfers, gas service changes.
- Stock Management: stock target definition, offer review, mobile assets reallocation.
- Retesting Management: from mid‑ to long‑term planning (Retesting Planning) to the weekly level (Production Scheduling).
- Coordinate closely with the primary transport dispatchers to organize and optimize the flows between plants.
- Collaborate with the secondary logistics and testing planning teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Plan and measure the performance of physical inventories and lead action plans to reduce Inventory Difference Rate (IDR).
- Maintain the highest availability of PG mobile assets at the lowest total cost.
- Analyze investment requests and conduct financial accounting and investment analysis.
- Utilize SAP and BI tools for inventory and asset management.
- Drive results through leadership, communication, and influencing in a matrix organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor with strong experience/engineering degree.
- Experience: Supply chain management (3-5 years).
- Competencies:
- Knowledge/experience of cylinder, valves, equipment, gases and packaging.
- Knowledge and experience of the “Order to Delivery” process.
- Knowledge and experience with financial accounting and investment analysis.
- Knowledge and experience with stocks inventory devices and accounting principles.
- Proficiency utilizing Google Suite programs.
- Soft skills: Leadership to deliver results, communication skills, ability to work in a matrix organization, conflict management, and balance short‑ to long‑term objectives in a complex environment.
