Partnerships Manager
B2B Sales | South Tyneside | £50,000 – £60,000 DOE + bonus + benefits
Full-time, Permanent | New Role
About The Client.
The business is fast-growth B2B Energy Consultancy based in the Northeast of England. Specialising in commercial energy procurement, they work with businesses across the UK to source and manage their gas and electricity contracts, operating through a network of direct sales, aggregator partnerships, and introducer channels. With around 150 people and strong commercial momentum, the business is in an exciting phase of growth and is now looking to build out a dedicated Partnerships function for the first time.
The Opportunity
This is a newly created role. As Partnerships Manager, you will take a lead on the introducer and referral opportunities from the ground up. This channel connects the business with sole traders, SME owners, tradespeople, accountants, and other business-facing professionals who can refer commercial energy opportunities in exchange for a revenue share.
The channel is active and generating leads, but it needs a dedicated manager to structure it, grow the introducer network, and ensure every opportunity that comes through is properly profiled and passed efficiently to the sales floor. This is a high-autonomy role reporting into a senior internal stakeholder, suited to someone who is self-motivated, commercially sharp, and comfortable building something new.
The client is on a strong growth trajectory, and this is a chance to get in early on a channel that has real potential. You will have the autonomy to build the introducer network your way, with backing from the leadership team and a commercial structure that rewards results. If you thrive on variety, enjoy managing relationships, and want to make a tangible commercial impact without layers of hierarchy slowing you down, this could be a very good fit.
What You Will Be Doing
- Shaping and managing the client’s introducer and referral channel end-to-end
- Growing the network of introducer partners, including sole traders, tradespeople, accountants, commercial electricians, and other business-facing contacts
- Proactively contacting and nurturing existing introducer relationships, keeping engagement high between referrals
- Profiling each incoming opportunity and routing it to the right salesperson on the floor
- Tracking all leads, referrals, and commission payments through the channel with a high level of accuracy and organisation
- Negotiating revenue share arrangements with introducer partners, typically ranging from 10% to 50% depending on volume and deal type
- Identifying and developing new introducer segments and partnership types, including networking events and local business community engagement in the Northeast
- Acting as the conduit between the introducer network and the internal sales team, hustling opportunities through to completion
- Keeping on top of pipeline activity during quieter periods by proactively reaching out to the channel
What We Are Looking For
The team are looking for someone with energy, commercial experience, and the confidence to get on with it. This is not a role for someone who needs a lot of directing.
- Demonstrable experience in a partnerships, channel management, business development, or account management role
- A self-starter who can build and manage relationships independently, without waiting to be told what to do
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to assess an opportunity quickly and act on it
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to keep accurate track of a busy pipeline and multiple relationships simultaneously
- A confident, personable communicator who can engage with a wide range of people, from sole traders to business owners
- Experience in the energy sector is advantageous but not essential; what matters most is the ability to manage people, expectations, and process
- Someone who can negotiate, problem solve, and close without being heavy-handed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing SME environment where things move quickly and initiative is valued
- This role reports into the sales Director.
Salary and Benefits
- Basic salary: £50,000 – £60,000 dependent on experience
- Monthly bonus scheme with weekly incentives tied to channel performance
- Private medical, dental, and optical cover
- Generous holiday allowance
- Tusker car scheme
- A growing, ambitious business with genuine scope to shape the function you lead
