Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
An exciting opportunity for an electrically biased Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join a small, close‑knit maintenance team within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on keeping production moving through effective fault finding, breakdown response, and planned maintenance on a variety of industrial machinery. You’ll be hands‑on, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dusty environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
- Diagnose and resolve faults on motors, sensors, wiring, panels, and control systems
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams
- Support PPM schedules and lead on preventative maintenance where required
- Work on conveyors, mixers, kilns, ovens, and other heavy industrial machinery
- Complete electrical logs, fault reports, and maintenance records accurately
- Support machinery upgrades, installations, and site improvement projects
- Work collaboratively within a shift‑based engineering team to ensure plant uptime
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Electrical qualification at NVQ / C&G Level 3 or equivalent
- Apprenticeship background desirable (or minimum 3 years hands‑on experience if HNC/Degree qualified)
- Strong electrical fault‑finding skills in an industrial setting
- Solid understanding of motor theory, panels, sensors, and wiring
- Experience working in dirty/dusty manufacturing environments
- Ability to work Panama day and night shifts
- A proactive, practical mindset
Desirable Skills:
- PLC knowledge (Siemens experience advantageous)
- Experience with AC/DC drives
- Mechanical changeovers and basic mechanical fault finding
- Experience with industrial control systems and automation
- Electronics and instrumentation experience
