A well-established and highly regarded law firm in South Devon is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its busy Residential Property team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to become part of a supportive team, assisting with a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to post-completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with new client instructions and file opening procedures
- Preparing estimates, client care documentation and onboarding paperwork
- Conducting source of funds and compliance checks
- Issuing contract packs
- Ordering and reviewing property searches
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and third parties by telephone and email
- Assisting with exchange and completion matters
- Preparing completion statements
- Requesting and processing mortgage funds
- Handling completion and post-completion administration
- Submitting SDLT returns
- Managing Land Registry applications and registrations
- Maintaining accurate file records and ensuring compliance with firm procedures
About You
- Previous experience within a Residential Property or Conveyancing department
- A good understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction through to post-completion
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced environment
- A proactive and team-focused approach
