Role Overview
If you have technical expertise and an analytical mindset, we need you on our team. You’ll work with us to diagnose faults and conduct root‑cause analysis for an advanced fleet across a range of systems (electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic), using a combination of electrical schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic software.
You will be responsible for performing corrective actions and repairs on new trains in a depot setting to ensure passenger service availability and reliability.
Salary and Benefits
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £51,500 per annum.

Qualifications for Success
• NVQ Level 3 in electrical/ mechanical engineering (or equivalent) plus 3 years of post‑apprenticeship experience required.
• Experience in detecting faults and carrying out root‑cause analysis across multiple systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematic diagrams.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic software, and test and measuring equipment.
