What you will do
- Attend all calls as requested and directed by the call centre.
- Conduct clinical assessments and deliver high standards of care to detained patients, assessing their fitness for detention, interview, release, or transfer.
- Provide healthcare interventions for minor ailments or injuries and refer cases that require more serious attention.
- Perform forensic examinations of individuals in police care, documenting injuries and collecting DNA evidence where necessary.
- Examine police officers or staff injured on duty, offering appropriate management and documentation of injuries.
- Collect specimens as required by legislation, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Operate within the scope of PACE legislation Code C, maintaining professional standards.
- Prepare written statements within 7–10 days upon request and give oral testimony in court or tribunals as necessary.
- Maintain complete and accurate clinical records that are accessible even after your contract ends.
- Conduct assessments for alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal.
- Undertake Mental Health and Learning Disability assessments as needed.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Lead to enhance medical services.
- Fulfil duties as a Forensic Clinician in custody and maintain clinical skills and competencies.
