Mid – Principal level Systems Engineer

Overview

We are seeking mid to Principal Systems Engineers to join a growing engineering team supporting the development of complex products and solutions within the defence sector. The successful candidates will play a key role in the delivery of mission-critical programmes, leading systems engineering activities across the full system lifecycle and working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and customers. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Systems Engineers looking to contribute to technically challenging projects within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Systems Engineering activities across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Capture, manage and decompose requirements.
• Apply Systems Engineering best practice using the V-Model.
• Support system architecture, integration, verification and validation activities.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and requirements traceability.
• Work closely with software, hardware and mechanical engineering teams.
• Participate in design reviews and customer-facing technical discussions.

Essential Experience

• Proven Systems Engineering experience within defence, aerospace, marine or another highly regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of the full Systems Engineering lifecycle.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS.
• Knowledge of requirements capture, decomposition, verification and validation.
• Experience working within a V-Model development environment.
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) as a minimum.
