Salary: £50,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for experience up to 3rd line support in an on-premises environment.
• We need strong experience with Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, Hyper‑V, SQL, and Microsoft Failover Clustering.
• We expect experience with system and server administration, including building, configuring, deploying, and maintaining physical and virtual environments.
• We need experience supporting Office 365, Active Directory, and cloud integrations.
• We value experience with network management, including firewalls, switches, VPNaaS platforms, and wireless access points.
• Experience with M365 administration tools and services such as Hybrid Active Directory, Teams, Entra, SharePoint, Exchange, mobile management, and Intune is important.
• We expect experience with backups, patch management, endpoint operating system deployment, email services, endpoint security, and SAN storage management.

Responsibilities

• We will have you join a small team responsible for the overall support of our network.
• You will help provide network, server, desktop, and cloud IT facilities across the company.
• You will build, configure, deploy, and maintain physical server and virtual environments.
• You will configure and monitor firewalls, switches, VPNaaS, and wireless access points to support reliable connectivity.
• You will administer the M365 stack, including user management, licensing, security configuration, and system health monitoring.
• You will manage secure backups and data retrieval across local and cloud environments.
• You will handle patch management for server and desktop software and vulnerabilities.
• You will build and deploy operating system images for endpoints.
• You will manage email services, including client configuration.
• You will control, manage, and configure endpoint security policies, agent deployment, and platform health.
• You will configure and manage centralised storage and SAN systems.

Location & Working arrangements

We are a leading client offering a permanent Network Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Administrator / 3rd Line Engineer role based in Daventry, Northamptonshire. The position is hybrid, with 2 days per week onsite and 3 days remote. You will work in a Microsoft‑focused, on‑premises environment as part of a small team supporting the companys network, server, desktop, and cloud infrastructure.
