Job Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Vascular Surgery Network. The role is for an assistant patient pathway co‑ordinator working 37.5 hours per week across Monday–Friday. It is a 12‑month maternity leave secondment based at Southmead Hospital.
Responsibilities
The Vascular Patient Pathway Assistant supports the Patient Pathway Coordinator as part of a clinical team, ensuring patients are admitted efficiently for investigative treatments, diagnostic procedures, and inpatient and day‑case operations. Tasks include adhering to national guidelines, the NHS Constitution, waiting time standards, Department of Health admission guidelines and booking rules, and the trust’s Patient Access Policy.
Qualifications
- Good general education including GCSE in Maths or English (or equivalent)
- Advanced keyboard and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Desirable Qualifications
- Patient Administration System (PAS) training
Experience
- Experience in NHS or a similar organisation
- Experience working under pressure
- Experience working as part of a team in a multi‑disciplinary environment
- Database experience
- Knowledge of patient pathway
Desirable Experience
- Experience supervising a team
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer care skills
- Ability to work using own initiative with excellent organisational and meticulous attention to detail

Additional Information and On‑boarding
