FTE: 1.0 FTE (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Salary: UH7 £38,784pa to £46,049pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days, including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: Hybrid – De Havilland Campus, MacLaurin Building, and at home

Main duties and responsibilities

As a member of the Insight team, your key responsibility is to report on existing trends and ongoing recruitment performance, identify and evaluate opportunities, interpret large complex data sets using tools such as Tableau Prep or Microsoft Excel, and format data for visualisation.

Additional duties include creating forecasts and models on university applications and acceptances, summarising and presenting analytical findings in written reports to diverse audiences, informing departmental or university policy, and undertaking bespoke research and analyses on departmental requests.

Skill and experience required

Experience in a market intelligence‑focused insight/research/analytical role, with a proven track record of challenging assumptions, identifying issues, and generating innovative solutions.

Demonstrable expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functions and data visualisation software (Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI) to analyse complex data sets and communicate insights.

Qualifications required

Minimum of a degree or equivalent in a numerical subject such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related field.

An appointment to this role may require an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate.
