About the Role – Support Worker
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Day Service team in Glasgow. In this role, you will support adults with a range of disabilities and varying support needs. You will play a key part in promoting independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion within a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities – Support Worker
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with disabilities in a day service setting.
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care (where required), medication administration, mealtime assistance, and community outings.
- Empower service users to develop life skills, confidence, and independence.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in recreational, educational, and social activities.
- Act as a designated Key Worker, maintaining accurate records and compiling robust risk assessments and care plans.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external healthcare professionals.
- Promote safeguarding, dignity, choice, and respect at all times.
Requirements – Support Worker
- A caring, patient, and reliable approach to support work.
- Experience working with adults with disabilities is desirable, although not essential as full training is provided.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
- A full UK Driving Licence is desirable.
- A willingness to undertake ongoing professional training and development.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ/NVQ in Health and Social Care) are an advantage.
- Must be a member of (or willing to join) the PVG Scheme.
- Must have the right to work in the UK; we are unfortunately unable to provide sponsorship for this role at this time.
