Techniche Global is supporting a leading provider of critical power and electrical protection systems based in Newport Pagnell in appointing a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes | £40,000 – £45,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Due to continued growth and recent contract wins, our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established engineering team, designing bespoke heavy‑duty electrical enclosures for applications across defence, marine, power and other highly regulated industries.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in mechanical design of bespoke engineered products
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
• Experience creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings
• Knowledge of sheet metal, folded and welded structures is advantageous
• HNC/HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
• Applicants must be UK or dual nationality and eligible for BPSS clearance

Key responsibilities

• Design bespoke heavy‑duty electrical enclosures and associated mechanical systems
• Work across the full product lifecycle from concept through to manufacture
• Modify and update existing designs to meet customer and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Support engineering reviews, design improvements and technical problem solving
