Quality Control Manager – Social Infrastructure SHEQ Team

Our Social Infrastructure SHEQ team has an exciting new position for a Quality Control Manager. The successful applicant will ensure that Social Infrastructure have effective processes and frameworks for ensuring quality control in the delivery of our projects in line with technical specifications, client scope and legal requirements.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols for construction projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections of materials, workmanship and site activities.
  • Audit project standards against the quality control procedures.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure quality standards are integrated.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues in collaboration with engineers and subcontractors.
  • Support the creation, development and maintenance of detailed project specifications and subsequent inspection and test processes.
  • Create and run an educational program for the business on the fundamentals of quality control.
  • Liaise and work with 3rd‑party external and/or client inspectors.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to quality expectations.
  • Prepare reports for senior management on quality metrics and project status.
  • Support pre‑construction and progress meetings focused on quality control.
  • Act as a business point of contact for construction quality control and technical assurance.
  • Work directly with the Quality Assurance Manager to support the entire quality function.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Set a good example to others by working safely.
  • Ensure that United Living HSE & Q standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
  • Spot unsafe acts and report them to the site management team in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ or QHSE role with a focus on quality control.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Degree in Quality Management or Construction Quality.
  • Certification (e.g., Certified Quality Manager).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.

  • Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information.
  • Keen to learn and develop within a SHEQ function.
