Google Cloud Engineer

We’re supporting a leading digital transformation consultancy delivering secure, cloud-native platforms into government and regulated environments. They are looking for an experienced SC Cleared GCP Engineer with strong GKE expertise to join a high-performing engineering team.

Key Requirements:

• Active SC Clearance (essential)
• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Deep expertise in GKE / Kubernetes in production environments
• Proven background delivering secure, scalable, cloud‑native solutions
• Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
• Strong skills in Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
• Good understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and Zero‑Trust principles

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build and optimise GCP‑based platforms, with a focus on GKE
• Deploy and manage containerised applications in secure, multi‑environment setups
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for repeatable, scalable deployments
• Embed security best practices and compliance controls across the platform
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams in agile delivery environments

Nice to Have:

• Experience with multi‑cloud (AWS/Azure) environments
• Exposure to service mesh / CNI (e.g. Cilium)
• Knowledge of monitoring & observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Experience with identity & secrets management (Keycloak, Vault)
