Senior Civil Engineer

Type: Full‑Time | Permanent (Hybrid – 2 days WFH)

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deliver civil engineering projects, including septic tank replacement schemes, highway and drainage design, estate road and drainage for residential developments, and infrastructure design covering levels, drainage, highways interfaces and earthworks.
• Co‑ordinate deliverables and ensure projects are efficient, cost‑effective and meet client requirements.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and liaise with statutory authorities for section agreement approvals.
• Produce drainage and external works designs for coordination with other disciplines.
• Provide technical support to the multi‑discipline team.
• Complete H&S risk assessments in line with CDM requirements.
• Prepare technical specifications and aid the quantity surveying team with Bills of Quantities.
• Visit sites, attend meetings, conduct inspections and surveys.
• Mentor and support team members, including new graduate staff.
• Prepare project reports and contribute to planning of project work and resourcing of the infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or structural engineering with significant post‑qualification experience.
• Chartered Engineer or currently working towards chartership.
• Experience managing project delivery and providing leadership at an engineering consultancy in the UK.
• Proficiency with PDS, Civils 3D, AutoCAD and/or Microdrainage.
• Competence in the conceptual and detailed design of infrastructure projects, including earthworks, roads and drainage.
• Full UK driving licence.
