Logistics Director

MacGregor Black is partnering with an FMCG business on the search for a Logistics Director. This is a perm role based in London.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all logistics operations, including transport, fleet (in-house and 3PL), and national distribution centres
• Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with business growth and customer service objectives
• Oversee relationships and performance of 3PL partners, ensuring service levels, cost control, and contractual compliance
• Optimise distribution network efficiency, including routing, warehousing, and last-mile delivery
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations, leveraging data and technology
• Ensure high levels of service delivery to stores across a large retail network, maintaining availability and timeliness
• Manage logistics budgets, cost controls, and financial performance, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency
• Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing logistics team across multiple locations
• Ensure compliance with all UK transport, health & safety, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with retail, supply chain, merchandising, and e-commerce teams

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a senior logistics leadership role within a large-scale UK retail environment
• Demonstrable experience managing both in-house fleet operations and 3PL providers
• Strong understanding of national distribution centre operations and multi-site logistics networks
• Track record of servicing a large and complex retail store network
• Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing significant budgets
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Data-driven mindset with experience using logistics systems and performance metrics
• Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
• Knowledge of UK logistics regulations and compliance requirements
