About The Opportunity
Amentum delivers innovative and sustainable solutions for complex environmental challenges and energy needs. We excel in environmental remediation, restoration, and compliance, ensuring safe management of hazardous materials and contaminated sites. We also provide expertise in renewable energy development, energy efficiency, and resilience projects across the defence sector, naval infrastructure, and shipbuilding. With continued growth, we are seeking Principal CS&A Engineers to join our team. These positions support hybrid working and can be based across our office network within the UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of CS&A engineers and architects in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional works that achieve safety, functional and business requirements.
- Act as a key role holder within the Engineering team on projects.
- Deliver the civil, structural, and architectural design.
- Manage interfaces to and between key delivery partners and the design team.
- Understand commercial implications of products, scope and packages.
- Deliver substantiation and other approvals.
- Identify risks with proposed resolution/mitigation.
- Produce schedule and identify key milestones.
- Develop deliverables list and format (drawings, specifications, reports, BIM, etc.).
Qualifications
- Higher education qualification in Engineering (or equivalent); MEng preferred.
- Engineering or scientific institution membership – Chartered Engineer.
- Background engineering experience demonstrating successful delivery, including recent positions influencing professional engineers and guiding technical personnel.
- Experience working within a regulated and quality‑assured system (preferably nuclear) where professional judgement is key.
