We have partnered with one of our international law firm clients on the hiring of a new Pricing Manager to join an established pricing team.
This role could be based in any of their UK offices, London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester
As Pricing Manager, you will play a key role in shaping pricing strategy and supporting senior stakeholders across a broad range of service lines, driving profitable, client-focused commercial outcomes. Operating across an international platform, this is a high-visibility position offering significant stakeholder engagement and strategic influence.
The Role
This role is focused on supporting partners on complex, high-value matters and delivering sophisticated pricing solutions. You’ll be expected to:
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners, providing commercially sound, practical pricing guidance
- Lead on larger and more complex pricing projects, ensuring delivery with minimal supervision
- Support negotiations and contribute to client conversations where pricing and value are key
- Translate technical pricing models into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with both partners and clients
- Provide a more tailored, nuanced approach (moving away from purely template-driven support)
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership and client teams to develop pricing strategies that balance client value, market competitiveness, and profitability
- Lead the development of fee proposals, alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), and commercial models for complex, multi-jurisdictional engagements
- Provide financial and commercial insight to support client negotiations and panel discussions
- Analyse pricing performance, engagement profitability, and commercial trends to inform decision-making
- Develop pricing models for technology-enabled solutions, ensuring appropriate valuation of innovation and delivery complexity
- Support the ongoing enhancement of pricing tools, processes, and governance frameworks
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Business Development, Project Management, and service line leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor, guiding stakeholders on pricing best practice and commercial positioning
Experience needed
- Proven experience in pricing role within a law firm
- Strong financial modelling capabilities, with the ability to translate data into clear commercial insight
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
- Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-oriented
