The Role
This is a broad, hands-on developer role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems across the full stack rather than being siloed into one area. You will work across backend services, internal platforms, customer-facing applications, and integrations, contributing from user story through to delivery. You are joining at a key stage in the evolution of the engineering function, with real ownership of your work and the chance to step into a senior-level position as the team grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable web applications using Python and TypeScript
- Develop and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and internal tooling
- Contribute to solution design from user story through to delivery
- Collaborate closely with BA teams and product stakeholders to translate requirements into working software
- Build and improve cloud-based systems and services across AWS or Azure
- Work with React, serverless functions, and third-party integrations
- Deliver across large-scale projects with high volumes of user stories and real business impact
What You’ll Need
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience with Python and a relevant framework such as Django or FastAPI
- Solid experience building web applications and REST APIs
- Comfortable working from high-level requirements through to solution design and delivery
- Good understanding of cloud environments, AWS or Azure
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Desirable:
- Commercial TypeScript experience
- Exposure to React or serverless architectures
- Experience working within large, complex programme environments
