Job Overview
Stride Recruitment are urgently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based on-site at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, covering building services PPM’s and Reactive Maintenance on a Long Term contract or temp-to-perm position on behalf of our client’s on-site Facility Management division., To service and maintain building plumbing services and plant equipment in accordance with relevant standards, frequencies, and safe working practices. To respond to reactive breakdowns, carry out fault finding and any necessary repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled planned preventative maintenance tasks.
- Be able to work within a small maintenance team, consisting of a mechanical shift engineer and a semi-skilled shift engineer (plus a full day team of engineering and support staff).
Qualifications
- Must have a Qualified or Time-Served NVQ 2 + Mechanical Maintenance Engineer qualification.
- Previous Plumbing and Mechanical Commercial PPM experience required.
- Good all round technical ability and a working knowledge of a wide variety of plumbing systems required; knowledge of building maintenance preferred but not essential.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to multi-task and be methodical.
- A pro‑active approach to problem solving.
Working Conditions & Compensation
Full time – Mon‑Friday, 37.5hrs / week basic hours, paid weekly. Overtime available (shift covers and shut down work, as well as additional remedial works). Salary: From £22.55 per hour ongoing with overtime at uplifted 1.5× or 2× rate over 37.5 hours.
