Our client is a well-established, financially secure and growing business with a strong reputation for quality, service and technical expertise. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to drive sales across a national territory.

The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while managing and developing key customer accounts across the UK.
The role combines strategic business development with account management, working closely with manufacturers, OEMs, engineers, procurement teams and technical decision-makers to deliver tailored electrical and semiconductor component solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and secure new business opportunities across a broad range of sectors.
- Manage and develop existing customer relationships to maximise revenue growth.
- Identify new projects, applications and market opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with engineers, buyers, procurement teams and senior stakeholders.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals and quotations.
- Work closely with internal technical and customer service teams to deliver exceptional customer support.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve agreed revenue targets.
- Monitor market trends, customer activity and competitor developments.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in a Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, Account Manager or Area Sales Manager role.
- Background within an electrical components, electronic components or semiconductor environment.
- Experience working for a manufacturer or distributor of electrical/electronic components.
- Strong new business development experience.
- Successful account management and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially driven with a proven track record of delivering sales growth.
- Ability to manage a national territory and work autonomously from home.
Desirable
- Experience selling into OEMs, industrial manufacturing, automation, aerospace, defence, energy or related sectors.
- Technical or engineering qualification.
- Knowledge of semiconductor technologies and applications.
