Band 7 critical care and gastroenterology dietitian

Would you enjoy working in an acute hospital but with strong links to dietetic teams across Somerset?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to develop the dietetic service provision within critical care, gastroenterology and eating disorders.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the service to these clinical areas is equitable and progressive and for the support and supervision of the team members working with them. You will also be responsible for a band 6 dietitian and two apprentices.
Main duties of the job
What are we looking for?
In order to undertake this role, you will need to have current/recent knowledge of enteral tube feeding, experience of covering ITU/HDU and a working knowledge of parenteral nutrition. The role also involves acting in a lead role for patients with gastrointestinal issues along with providing dietetic input to inpatient eating disorders. Advanced communication skills and strong MDT working experience are essential. Training and support will be available however as this is a fixed term position there is a level of expertise required. Ideally we would be looking for someone to start in August or September.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- BSc in nutrition and dietetics or equivalent
Experience
- Evidence of good working knowledge within critical care, gastroenterology and eating disorders.
- Experience of counselling patients on emotive issues regarding care.
- NHS experience
- Specialist knowledge in gastroenterology and critical care
- Evidence of managing others
Additional Criteria
- Evidence of advanced communication skills
- Excellent team working skills
- Evidence of emerging leadership skills
