HGV Class 1 Steel Driver – Kingswinford
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Steel Driver to join our well-established client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and genuine opportunities to grow and progress.
This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
• Monday to Friday • Start times between 04:00 – 07:00
Rates of Pay:
• £17.50 – £19.00 per hour (DOE)

Day-to-Day Duties:
As a HGV Class 1 Steel Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Delivering steel products (previous steel experience is mandatory) • Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections • Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as required
Essential Skills:
As a HGV Class 1 Steel Driver, you will need:
• Valid UK Category CE driving licence • A minimum of 18 months’ experience driving Category CE vehicles • Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card • No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes • Good spoken and written English • Punctual with excellent time-keeping • Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations • Effective communication skills • Mandatory previous experience working with and transporting steel
Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles

• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
