Job Summary
The post holder will be a key member of the Wolfson EQA Software (WES) development team, with a junior training role in maintaining system functionality and project development. The role involves software development, configuration and support, and training to become a WES specialist programmer analyst under the supervision of senior team members.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
- Investigate and resolve day-to-day WES issues as they arise, following ongoing instruction and guidance.
- Test extensively changes entered into WES prior to release into live operation.
- Support the WES team for system releases and upgrades.
- Ensure new equipment or technology introduced does not compromise the performance or reliability of existing systems or services.
- Assist with WES system configurations for Labgnostic users to enable electronic transfer of External Quality Assessment data.
- Collaborate with Clinical Laboratories and Labgnostic support staff to resolve queries and inconsistencies.
- Participate in extensive testing and checking procedures before data entry into WES, as overseen by the line manager.
- Carry out other WES and office supporting tasks as required after completing training.

Person Specification
- Essential: GCSE Maths and English.
- Essential: Degree in IT, science, or numerical subjects.
- Essential: Significant experience working with MS Office applications via a desktop PC.
- Essential: Some previous work experience working in a team.
