Head of Financial Risk & Compliance | PE-Backed Leisure

We are partnering with a PE-backed leisure business to appoint a Head of Financial Risk & Compliance, reporting to the Director of Financial Control. This is a role responsible for strengthening the Group’s risk framework and embedding a robust compliance culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Group’s financial risk and compliance agenda
• Strengthen and oversee the second line of defence framework
• Develop and enhance financial controls, policies, and compliance processes
• Promote a strong risk management mindset across Finance and operational teams
• Provide oversight of treasury and financial risk matters, including hedging, interest rates, inflation exposure, liquidity, and cash management
• Deliver clear risk reporting and challenge to senior stakeholders
• Support wider transformation and governance initiatives within a PE-backed environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent
• Strong background in financial risk, compliance, treasury, or financial control
• Experience operating within robust risk governance frameworks and second line environments
• Hands‑on understanding of treasury activities and broader financial risk management
• PE-backed, leveraged, or high-growth experience preferred
• Commercially minded with the confidence to influence and challenge stakeholders
